They are still hammering, cutting, sawing etc. at the building site next door to Gail's office, so I went out to try and grab some more photos. Some of the guys don't really like it, so I leave them alone. Some don't mind and just carry on with their jobs. And some obviously feel flattered and want to start posing. This was one of those who just carried on after warning me not to stand near him because of flying sparks of metal he was cutting, so I went some distance to the side and zoomed in.
Aarghhh! No protective gloves and the safety guard has been removed from the angle grinder... this man is not going to keep all his fingers for long! I like the environmental 'body portrait' but not the message it is sending.
@vignouse Yes I very much agree with you. I also thought it looked rather dangerous. Is this machine and angle grinder? I had no idea, but clearly as that is aluminium he is cutting, I know it has to be extremely sharp and powerful. Not knowing the machine, I can't even imagine where or how the safety guard should be on it. I just hope I don't ever witness any accident with it
@pusspup Yes - and in my naivete I didn't even realise until discussion with someone else that there are all sorts of other OH&S issues at this building site! Just shows how little I know!
