Despite the ugliness of the fish factory (our only bit of industry), standing down there by the river as it gets close to sunset is so soothing - the only sounds are the gentle grunts of the flamingos in the wetlands in front of me, and the whoosh, whoosh, whoosh of thousands of pairs of wings as wave upon wave or cormorants fly upriver to sit on the salt pans overnight
@narayani It is totally amazing. I see them almost daily, but yet every morning when they fly down river and out to sea, and every evening when they come back up river, I am still just blown away by this phenomenon and the numbers of birds. It is absolutely wonderous.Of course, with so many, there are sometimes in flight accidents and one takes a tumble to earth, injured. The seals wait in the river mouth for birds falling out of the air.
