I have wooden cottage pane windows in my home, and I noticed recently that the north facing ones, exposed to the sun all day, and our "weather" comes from the north, meaning the rain comes from the north, were looking very shabby with peeling varnish. So I had to find a painter to strip off the old varnish and paint on wood sealer for me before our winter rains start in ernest. He was mortified that I was taking a photo of him in his work clothes!
