Yesterday was awful. The noise of the jack hammer kind of machine they used to lift the old tiles in the kitchen and dining room. The fine cement dust that has coated everything... Today they are starting to lay tiles. There is still noise from the angle grinder but nowhere near as bad as yesterday.

It’s going to look great when it’s done - it will all be worth it (horrible noises though!)

That’s a big job, but it’ll look great when its done. I think the dust would bother me the most.

@beckyk365 Yes the dust is what's bothering me the most. It is going to be a huge spring cleaning operation throughout the whole house once they contractors move off site. That cement dust from their angle grinders has gone everywhere - even under or around bedroom doors that were closed.... And all the crockery feels gritty so I think I will have to wash every knife, fork, pot and plate etc. in my kitchen

Too late, Desi, to change your mind. Soon, very soon...you're going to be a happy bunny with your swish new decor. I do appreciate what you say about the dust though...it seems to be without end!
