@narayani I love walking along the river. It is about a 3km round trip for me to get to the river and then walk to the end of this path and back home, so just perfect distance for the dogs to get in plenty of smells as well.
@photographycrazy Thanks very much @ludwigsdiana Thank you. It sure is frustrating when one sees gorgeous skies such as while driving, but cannot shoot them

Thank you. 3km round trip is not really all that far when we take at least 40min to do it. We walk fast for a few paces then stop for all the interesting smells, then walk again. It is the dog's time to smell and socialize, as well as my time to take photos on the short bit along the river. When I am too busy to take that amount of time I just do a short walk on the streets. I don't think the doglets mind too much as long as they get out.
What a splendid shot! I envy you living beside water...I used to live beside the sea too...and l miss it. Having said that, l now appreciate living on the edge of a large forest in Brittany, Northern France. I consider myself much blessed to be have had the opportunity to live in such different backdrops...sea and forest. Both ooze their qualities and the characters that live there.
@s4sayer Thank you Margo. Yes you are right - both sea and forest ooze their own special qualities, as do mountains. When we first came here I missed the real sea and beaches of Cape Town, and of course Table Mountain, so much I had difficulty finding the beauty at first. Once I had taken a few photos of the jetties or boats I thought there was nothing different to shoot. It took a minor attitude adjustment to realise there is beauty or something of photographic merit everywhere. I just have to look a little harder, or differently, for it
@meotzi Thank you. Yes it does offer photographic opportunities, although there are times I feel it is too much of the sameness and I need a change of scenery. But this is an easy and safe walk for the dogs and me without having to drive anywhere to get to a new destination.
