On a grey and rainy day there were some great shots to be had at the North York Moors steam railway in Pickering.
This railway winds its way through some of the most breathtaking scenery between Pickering and Whitby, and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a love of nostalgia.
My research tells me that this engine is called a Black 5. For anyone interested, here is a link.
I don't know what it is about trains that captivates people, but whenever I see a Steam Train, it makes me feel better about life, not that it is bad in the first place!!
After a fre shots that have been processed, a SOOC from me as well!!
This is super! The exposure is just right too, look at all that detail on the engine, yet the white steam highlights aren't blown out. A dark moving subject emerging from a dark tunnel into the light is really difficult to shoot properly! Well done Sean! And SOOC too, even more impressive. :)
Theres something romantic about train travel although all travel gives me excited butterflies. Nicely timed with the train just out of the tunnel and the steam.
