Lovely moody shot, I love shots like this because piers have such a fascinating framework that supports them and in this photo that contrasts perfectly with the fluffiness of the clouds.
LOVE the crisp B&W - I often struggle with making the blacks black enough and the whites white enough without blowing them out. Good job here! (And btw, thanks for all the comments over at my project - I feel so bad that lack of time makes my replies so sadly sporadic, but know that I appreciate every one!)
@pippajeanne Thanks Pippa, a littl etip for strong B+W. When I know I want to conver tto B+W I tend to underexpose by 1-3 F Stops. The more contrast and less detail I want the more I underexpose.
@seanoneill - Oh wow, THANKS for the tip. I am SO going to try this - B&W conversions usually leave me feeling there's just that bit of an intensity lacking. I'm going to experiment with this over the weekend.
I've not read anyone else's comments and I may offend here but at first glance, it reminded me of a factory processing line, with a conveyor belt. It sure looks sturdy.
@jillmstruss Thanks Jill, I had a great time at Mumbles last week, there are several more dotted through my other albums. Sadly, no seaside pier shots planned next weekend!!
