April 20th by seanoneill

April 20th

I have been trying to capture this local field for about a week!!

The weather here has been horrible, but we popped out at luchtime to do some jobs and the sky brightened for a few minutes.

Thanks fo rall your wonderful feedback on my photos of the last week, it is truly inspiring. If you get a second, I would love you to take a peek at one of my favourite photos ever, in one of my other albums.

April 20th, 2012
Beautiful! Love the sunny light.
April 20th, 2012
You have captured this from quite a different take to all the recent shots I have seen. Like the angle and that strong gold against the blue sky. Niice shot.
April 20th, 2012
Beautiful blue, pitty it's not straight on the yellow. But a great capture

@myautofocuslife Thanks Livia, you always brighten my day with your comments, not that this particular one needs brightening, so I'll put my sunglasses on!!
April 21st, 2012
Is that what we call Canola?
April 21st, 2012
@bobfoto I think so, you get a food grade oil from it. We call it Oil Seed Rape. It grows in the spring an ddoesn't need a lot of water, which we haven't had a lot of in recent months, so it has been planted everywhere this year!!
April 21st, 2012
@seanoneill - where I grew up in the South of Australia we grew Canola because they felt that Rape Seed was a harsh name... and yes, it grows in marginal pastoral land with minimal water.
April 21st, 2012
@bobfoto I'm with you on that one!

Fantastic sky...glad you made it out!
April 22nd, 2012
Wonderful contrast but complementarity of yellow and blue
April 22nd, 2012
A nicely balanced photo. A nice change from the canola being the dominant feature, as most would expect it to be. That sky is amazing.

@craigwkr Thanks Craig.

@seanoneill not a pro as far as landscapes are concerned. Definitely my weak area!
April 22nd, 2012
Beautifully captured!
April 22nd, 2012
Great shot Sean, did you use a polarized filter?
April 23rd, 2012
@debsphotos Thanks Debs.
April 23rd, 2012
@pictureitbig Funny enough it was mine too until I started working with my exposure more on the camera.
April 23rd, 2012
@rwhite Thanks Rosie.
April 23rd, 2012
@simon0128 No I didn't Simon. I have a UV, and always underexpose by a couple of stops to get the dominant part of the shot to have a strong colour saturation. If it then needs tweaking in RAW or LR or PS it is mush easier to add exposure back in.
April 23rd, 2012
@seanoneill Cool cheers Sean!
April 23rd, 2012
Oh I just want to run through that fiiiiiiiiiiiield! Amazing colors!

April 23rd, 2012
@zuzana I think if you viewed gritain from space at the moment a huge chunk of it will be yellow Zuzana. The countryside around me is awash with yellow. Thanks for your ever kind feedback.
