Trapped

Another exercise in futility, up at 7am on a sunday to try and get a cricket match playable, called off at 845 due to waterlogged pitch.

This is the scene a few yards from our ground. The Soar Valley flood plain is under several feet of water from Kegworth to Rothley.
Glorious summer isn't it. This picture sums it up nicely

So what do they do? They can't even get on dry land to open the locks?
Had to fav this I love everything about canal boats and locks. My aunt and uncle had one for years, we had a lovely vacation on it once. So relaxing. But this wouldn't be relaxing.

Blimey, I'm sure its not supposed to look like that. Great photo but shame about your match. No rain here today yet. A miracle.

Beautiful sheen and reflection on "the river" -- hope it all returns to normal before long!

Just a little more rain and it can slide down on the side of the locks ;)

Well, a great shot - it is amazing how much rain you have had, while we are scorching in the MidWest US. . .
