@ozziehoffy@rachelmackenzie Thank you both, I am so glad you like this shot. When you have a shot in your minds eye and someone else loves it, it is so rewarding. @fueast Thanks Alison, You may be right, our sum total was 9 conkers!!
Lovely autumnal shot... it hasn't been a good year for conkers I've noticed, I've mainly found very small ones or flat, sort of half conkers. I've noticed lots still smooth and green still on the trees.
I've never been to Bradgate park (assuming you mean Leicester here) but I've heard it's good place to watch the rut at this time of year.
@roachling That's right, you can access it from Newtown Linford, Old John and Cropston. You should google it because there are a number of deer walks in the next few weeks. We did one last year and saw some rutting. I may even go again this year. Glad you like my shot.
@esolvideosuk Thank you Jennie, your fav was the 800th for me on my project, and I am delighted that one of my followers from the start of my project has given it to me. Thank you.
ha ha, I collected some conkers the other day to take exactly this shot...except I wasn't happy with my conker shells as out trees are diseased and the kernels are pretty brown and manky looking! Love the light in this - really nicely done
I just love the composition. Are conkers what we call buckeyes? They look the same. I didn’t realize such a beautifully smooth chestnut came from inside such an urchin-like shell.
Only seen this now for the first time, and congrats on the PP. Love the colours and very natural looking light. Also just seen the sepia colored one which I also really like, can't choose which one is the better!

Thanks for that info, I might see if we can go over sometime soon or I'll aim for next autumn if not!
