There is a book of Mapplethorpe's flowers, which is one of my prize possessions. If you ever want to treat yourself to a large book with some of the most beautiful flower photosgraphs ever, this is the one.
This shot was taken on our mantlepiece, and side lit with my Lastolite minus diffuser today. I take a lot of my still life shots on our mantlepiece. Yesterdays Conker shot was taken there, as was my favourite Apples and Pears from earlier in the year.
Thank you for all the lovely comments on my Conker shot from yesterday, it has been on the PP and the home page today. I am chuffed to bits as we say in my neck of the woods.
Well congratulations!! Gosh love the flower shots especially the anemone..gorgeous and your apples and pears before I met you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha
lovely one today, such fun setting up a still life isn't it? these lovely flowers last for ages, we may see them again!!
You have a nice subtle back ground there Sean, very convenient for us photographers....must remember that when next decorating"!!!! Do you have to clear things off first too? Looks very classy I must say & nice & simple!
At first I thought I preferred the b&w, but looking closer I love the colour in this shot. I like the classy light and comp. congrats on the conkers pp.
This is just beautiful... I clicked on the link to the complete flowers book by Robert Mapplethorpe but it is £72 on Amazon... I will have to wait until Christmas!
