Ben has a baritone music lesson at 8am on a tuesday at school. This means leaving the house at 7-30am so today I put the camera in the car to scout for something to shoot on the way back home.
Just outside Loughborough is a place called the Big Meadow. This is a shot looking east across it into the mist and sunrise.
PP 10th October 2012
I am off to ireland on a 3 day business trip first thing tomorrow, so a bit snowed under today finishing off preparations. I will be taking my IPad so that I can catch up on peoples photos during the evenings when I'm stuck in my hotel. Thanks a million to everyone to the response on my work recently. It is inspiring.
Lovely shot Sean. I'm trying to place it. Could it be the flat area I used to cycle through as a teenager, approaching Loughborough from Clifton/Gotham?
@tandem02 Thankyou Kathrin, much appreciated :) @houdiniem Thanks Emily. @yrhenwr Hi David, yes right on the outskirts of L'Boro, between Stanford on Soar and L'Boro. The South Notts bus route crosses it.
@yrhenwr Yes it is still going. My uncle used to drive for them in the 70s!Now I am a traditionalist, and two things about South Notts today make me unhappy. Firstly, they were taken over by Notts City Transport a couple of years ago, and the buses are now green, not blue! Secondly, they are closing Gotham Bus Depot, the spiritual home of South Notts Bus Co. Makes me sound like an anorak. I'm not, but I do like some things not to change and I have a real affinity with the route because of my uncles history with it. You know, if you are ever over this way, it would be great to have a beer and reminisce!!
I'll add my fav! This is such gorgeous morning light and mistiness and golden tones and great disappearing lines and fabulous silhouette fence and can I fav it again ;-)
@hjv@cbawernsen@tulipgirl Thank you all. I'm glad you like this. Hubregt, we may well drive past this place in November, and you will see how uninspiring it is without sun and mist!! Alicia, I wish you could, I wish you could!!
I think it's your work recently that's been inspiring Sean, not our comments! After that little wobble a couple of weeks back you have got back on the 365 wagon and excelled! This is just glorious, puts my meagre sunrise I took today to shame! fav for me too and I expect to see this on the PP very shortly!
@jackie8 Awww Jackie, most of the time I love 365, love photography, love life. Once in a while a little black cloud descends over me. It is usually gone in a day, often in a few hours. That is what happened a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't imagine not posting a shot each day, though i will have meagre pickings for the next 3 days. Thank you for your wonderfully supportive comments. You are one of a group of followers who make this project all the more worthwhile. :))
I agree with Jackie, you certainly have pulled out all the stops recently, wonderful stuff!!..and this is a cracker....utterly beautiful and definately a fav.....hope the trip goes well :))
@seanoneill Green!! That's outrageous! As is shutting down the Gotham depot. I wonder if that road is still fit for carefree cycling as I felt it to be... could it be 55 years ago? I think it is! So I guess that answers my own question! A beer and a chinwag would be great if I am over there sometime. It's been quite a while.
What a fantastic shot - looks like pylons coming out of the sea. Two power sources together. Fav.
Tell Ben that's his nickname from me - "Ben the baritone" Although on second thoughts, don't - he's getting a big boy now!
