Virginia Creeper abstract

The same Virginia Creeper that I shot the other day, but with my macro lens. May be better viewed large.

I can't make my mind up if this is any good, I'm torn between nice abstract and crap, why did I post this?

Well it has been a busy day, the weather has been dark and grey and I'm missing The Big Fella.

Today Sam (aformentioned Big Fella) has been to see a view of Beijing and the Forbidden City (better have some pics) and for a Peking Duck lunch and to see an awesome Kung Fu show (his words). He is dog tired after the flight, so I hope he gets a full nights kip and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night as the jet lag kicks in. Thats's what always happened to me in my days travelling east.

Something good here today in the vein of @happypat who posts 3 good things about her day every day. After 12 years of our shower plumbing getting worse and worse, we've had a pump put of our shower and 2 electric showers fitted for the kids. I've had a fantastic shower and feel squeaky clean! So 3 new showers, I guess that's 3 good things.

We are off to North Yorks tomorrow for 2 nights and then straight to Norfolk for 5 days, so I don't expect to post any shots now until 27th October.
Great shot Sean, have a great weekend

Such a vibrant colour!

I think this is great, the sharp focus of the foreground leaf combines with the bokeh/soft focus distance to create an almost-abstract. Plus the color is amazing.

Fantastic color, Sean! 8) Sam's already seen the Forbidden City? That's awesome!

@myautofocuslife Thanks Livia. Yes he has, I am so excited for him. I really appreciated what you said yesterday. So much of my pleasure in life is vicarious, ie it is derived from the experiences I can give my kids.

I like it tons!! It reminds me very much of my red maple leaves. . . and I really like the DOF. Have a great holiday, although we'll miss you bunches! Glad to know that Sam made it safely.

@lyno Thank you Lyn, you are so sweet. I will miss everyone onhere too. Thanks for your comment about Sam. I couldn't sleep until his text came through at 2-30am to say he had landed. I am so thrilled about his day.

@lyno and yes, it does have a Maple Leaf look to it. I love Maples and Acers and the like. They are a joy to behold.

@happypat Thanks Pat. Great shower this morning as I tie up loose ends at work and get ready to head off. @fannyb Then I should have posted a pic of his madly untidy bedroom that he has left us to deal with. It looks like a Tracy Emin!!!

Love the rich colour - so eye-catching.

Such a vibrant and 'alive' colour! I know how you feel about missing the 'big fella'... I've experienced that with all three of my children, with only the youngest now still living at home. Hope you enjoy your break away....

I actually really like this. Fav for me. The colour is amazing.

Blimey Sean! That's RED!!
It's tough letting go, even for just a couple of weeks, but he'll be absorbed and enriched by his fabulous experiences. My middle son went on a gap year trip prior to Uni to France and he's back there now - ten years later via Austria, Spain, Oz, New Zealend, Switzerland and Singapore! No Uni, no degree but he works and supports himself and makes his Dad proud :)
