Every year on Christmas Eve, after it got dark, i would get Sam and Ben ino their Pyjamas, and then take them for a drive. We would be looking for Rudolph's nose in the sky.
When they spotted it, they would shriek with delight, and then it would be time to go home to hang their stockings up and go to bed.
Sadly, this tradition had to stop a couple of years ago when they rumbled me, that Rudolph's nose was actually the light on the top of the control tower at East Midlands Airport.
We would always spot it from one of two or three places. This is shot from one such place several miles away with the help of my tripod. So, as a shot it is pretty inept, but as a tradition, it is one that I started for my boys, and I am very happy to share it with you all.
Thanks to those of you who viewed, commented or faved my red telephone boxes, it made the PP!
Happy Christmas everybody, wherever you may be. Have a good one!
@simon0128 Thanks Simon, you too. I was looking back through my comments earlier, and you were the first person to ever comment on one of my photos. Thanks for staying with me my friend. I hope that we finally get to hook up somewhere in the New Year. I hope that Callum has a magical day. That part of my kids lives has passed by now, but I love the thought of parents with younger kids still going through the excitement phase with them.
@annbo Thank you Ann, and to you too my dear. I hope that you have a peaceful time full of love from your family, especially after your trials and tribulations of recent weeks.
Thanks very much Sean, I am at work tonight: ( lol hoping to finish at 2am. We will have to sort some thing out in the new year. Callum is really excited at the moment, we just sprinkled some reindeer dust on the lawn to attract them to our house hehehehe
I LOVE the story of your Christmas tradition. It really warms my soul, and I have no doubt your boys and you have wonderful memories of those times. Thank you for sharing it.
@simon0128 Blimey Simon, I am so lucky never to have needed to work on Christmas Day. Good for Callum. Well, I know that Rudolph is on his way, I've just photographed his nose in the sky!!
@pasadenarose Thank you so much. Whilst it is a tradition for my family, you never know what others will think of it. I am thrilled that you like it :)) A very merry Christmas to you too. S x

@automaticslim Thanks Andy. I try to be, I'm not always successful, but it is along time since I was a teenager, so I am a little out of touch! A very Merry Christmas to you and your family too. Have a great day. I enjoy our acquaintance on 365, long may it continue.
This made me smile a lot. How creative were you and what a wonderful tradition. If it only stopped a few years ago, then you did well! Sounds like you've had a great day at your house. Happy recovery ;-)
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Sean!
