Longhill, New Covert B+W by seanoneill

Longhill, New Covert B+W

A more traditional landscape shot of Longhill, New Covert.

I am a big fan of Michael Kenna, and have tried to shoot and subsequently process in his silhouette style for this shot.

Colour version will go up in my other album.

Very nice viewed large.

I will move onto a different subject tomorrow.
Stunning b/w Sean.... adore this

Nice to see you back Sean. This is the one for me - I love the way the banks of cloud frame the stand of trees and the high contrast really brings this out.

Superb b/w. David's comment is spot on.

@jocasta Thanks Jocasta, I didn't know him, but a cursory glance says his work is fabulous and definitely my cup of tea. Some of my shots of Another Place start here tomorrow! I am planning a return sometime in the next 6 weeks I hope.

I like both but this is much more dramatic and has more impact.

I like the halo around the trees and the contrast. The cloud banks are amazing. Def worthy of the wall.

It's almost like someone has painted those clouds, they are all in just the best formation! High drama, I like the processing Sean.......

That is a fabulous sky. How did you get this effect if you don't mind sharing?
May 5th, 2013
@stuckinoz I never mind sharing Janelle. I will originally have taken 3 bracketed shots, though will have set the camera up so one is exposed correctly and 2 underexposed by 1 and 2 stops. Then I would process in Silver Efex Pro to create the strong silhouette and select the Silhouette preset. If you take a quick peek at the colour "shadow" shot in my other album, this was the original shot.

I love the silhouette of the trees and the gorgeouse clouds. It's so great to see you here again, Sean. It seems that the rest did you good. Your recent shots are stunning.
