I have just had a very enjoyable 3 days in Brighton on a long exposure workshop with Doug Chinnery of Light and Land. My lovely wife treated me for my birthday and christmas presents last year. I've even missed Cheltenham for it!
More photos and commentary on the workshop and locations to follow but I wanted to get a shot up before I disappear under the weight of work I have returned to!!
This shot of Brighton Pier was taken with a 10 stop Lee Big Stopper, slowing the exposure at midday down to 60 seconds at f/22.
I'm rather chuffed with this. I have also been converted to Lightroom, though I confess this was processed in PSCC! I may well have a go at it in LR5 as well, though I am snowed under until next Monday, so not sure when it will be.
@jack4john He hasn't seen it yet John. With 8 of us on the course and the emphasis being on getting out with our cameras, we've all dashed home to start processing. I hope to send some to him for critique, and hope to improve this shot too when I process in Lightroom.
Great dramatic shot Sean. You missed Cheltenham. Like most locals I spend the whole of this week trying to miss it!!. Unless I'm actually going of course. At least I don't have to fit school runs round the race traffic any more
Stunning! Looks forward to seeing more. I so enjoyed my night at the GCR first time in months been somewhere outside home and the village to photo anything. Didn't even matter not many useable due to not having a tripod for night time shooting just enjoyed being out!
