Life sometimes throws up surprises. Today was one of those days.
We were on the rocky beach at Fouras while this chap was collecting oysters off the rocks. Rebecca was looking for sea glass, the kids were playing American Football, and I was taking photos of the Carrelets.
He asked Rebecca and I if we had ever been in a Carrelet, and when we said no, he invited us into his. Then he preceded to show us how to fish so we could have a go.
As Rebecca rightly said, A bucket list item ticked off that we didn't even know was on our list!
He let me take his photo. We didn't ask hi sname, we didn't feel the need.
If you are wondering what a Carrelet is, it is a fishing hut on stilts with a large net on the end that you lower into the sea as the tide comes in, to catch small fish, prawns and crabs. Take a look in my other albums. The dark, stormy looking shot is this chaps Carrelet.
