Thi sis the cricket tea at Kegworth Town yesterday.
It was for 22 players, 2 umpires and a scorer. It was prepared by Sam and Rebecca. We have a budget of £30-00 to spend. Out of shot is a huge pot of tea, big enough to serve all 25 of them!!
Sam is going on a 10 day expedition to China with school this October, and has been tasked by us with doing some of his own fundraising to help pay for the trip. He earns £20-00 for preparing a cricket tea.
The scones were made by Rebecca.
Yesterday was a long day. We were preparing for cricket tour from 7am until 2pm, then at the cricket club to do Cricket Tea, and I was on bar duty, whilst Rebecca did a BBQ for our 2 senior teams and supporters. We raised more than £500-00 for club funds yesterday, so the effort was definitely worth it!
Nice spread. That fundraising is a great effort for one day. So, if I can count, the cricket tea budget is really £50. £20 sounds a pretty decent earner. Good on Sam for helping out with the cost of his trip. He may appreciate it more.
@sheliwithani Cheers Sheli, yes total budget £50-00. Sam has to earn £800 in total, and has ot to £500 so far. He has just signed up to a 10 day desert trek through the deserts of Jordan, Petra and the Dead Sea in Oct 13, so he is now needing to find another £500. I am sure that he will appreciate it more. Why did our school trips never go to places like this?
@myautofocuslife Thanks Livia, he is off to Beijing and the Great Wall, with some project work in a village. In his own understated way yes, i think he is excited!
That's so cool, to be able to see the Great Wall, one of the seven wonders of the world! I was there over 20 years ago, and still count it as one of my most memorable trips ever. He'll have a great time in Beijing. I hope he gets to visit the Forbidden City. The project work sounds interesting. 8)
@myautofocuslife Yes, I am sure he visis the Forbidden City too. As a 15 year old, it i san amazing opportunity for him, and I am sure that he will love the whole thing.
