Reminds me of the first overnight camp out at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. In order to pace myself for the last mile and a half up the Bright Angel Trail, I fell in behind a mule train taking the day tourists back to the rim. That last mule in line did everything in its powers to discourage me from being behind it. The rider thought it was funny, but I didn't see the humor in it.
