Summer Solstice Cyclist (wearing only body paint) Ride Begins To Start The Two Day Event Of The Fremont Fair!

Founded in 1972, the Fremont Fair is one of Seattle’s most beloved neighborhood street festivals, featuring a weekend of eclectic activities that celebrate the quirky community of Fremont, the self-proclaimed “center of the universe.” Held annually in mid-June to coincide with the Summer Solstice, the event draws more than 100,000 people to shop, eat, drink, mingle, groove, and enjoy all manners of creative expression. Artistic highlights include craft and art booths, street performers, local bands, wacky decorated art cars, the free-spirited Solstice Parade.
What? LOL

Oh I miss Seattle SO much! I remember the first year a "streaker-biker" busted through the parade. What a scandal! And of course, Fremonters make it a tradition.

Nod

June 19th, 2011
good grief!!... great shot!
June 19th, 2011
Well I must say, I'm surprised the poice are not there making arrests. I've nevr seen so much "crack" at one place :) I don't know, but that doesn't seem like it would be a comfortable ride, especially for the guys, LOL
June 19th, 2011
Oh my!!
June 19th, 2011
Now that is a different kind of cycling event. It is very colorful to say the least.
June 19th, 2011
They had one of these in Ottawa this year, but while being bare-breasted is legal here....the police "cracked down" on any further nudity!
June 19th, 2011
Geez...what's with all the naked bikers lately!!! Can you say saddle sores? Awesome Candance!
June 19th, 2011
@kathyd LOL....cracked down :)
June 19th, 2011
Well done on managing to take this without showing too much information! ;) hehehe brill!
June 19th, 2011
Oh gosh!!! This is GREAT! hahaha! made my day!
June 19th, 2011
Well, Boeing field got a heavy mist all morning, they stopped the heliocopter rides because of fog over Seattle. Fortunately, I made it up on the fourth trip.

Still was a little cold for the attire.
June 19th, 2011
wowza...oh yeah...awesome shot.
June 19th, 2011
love all the smiles in the pic!
June 19th, 2011
An expertly positioned bicycle basket Constance...even at a naked bike ride your photography has immaculate timing !!
June 19th, 2011
Well its a good job it was a warm day , as they were only wearing their bare essentials !!
June 19th, 2011
@snowy It was raining and about 58F. Too wet and cold for this event, but it does not stop any one here from having a great time!
June 19th, 2011
@ahulanismith Come back we need your organic farming skills here!
June 19th, 2011
@seattle Hope the rain didn't wash off the body paint lol
June 19th, 2011
Awesome shot Constance
June 19th, 2011
Cheeky shot...looks like fun!
June 19th, 2011

There seems to be a growing trend...not sure what to say!
June 19th, 2011
I'm speechless....but am drawn back again and again to this photo...how in the heck were you able to be so discreet!!!! LOLLLLLLLLLLL
June 20th, 2011
Naked bike riding never struck me as the most comfortable pairing of activities
June 20th, 2011
LOL - I've heard of these events before, I hate riding a bike without excess padding - and a sports bra is a must!! superbly shot
June 20th, 2011
Excellent! an exciting and colourful vibe you've got here.
June 20th, 2011
That's a lot of smelly bike seats.
June 20th, 2011
ohhh geeeee! i'm still speechless!
June 20th, 2011
def worth viewing large...haha
June 20th, 2011
My husband and I had this on our agenda but just ran out of time and with the weather so drizzly we just decided to stay at the airshow. It sounds though that people didn't loose any paint in the weather. Hahaha!!! Great shots.
June 20th, 2011
I was a bit scared to view large... LOL. But I did and then laughed even harder. A wonderful capture!
June 20th, 2011
@dmortega Thanks it was such a rainy day and not the best to be out with your SLR camera! But I love the spirit of the riders, not phased by the weather! @attraversi Ha, I really tried hard to get a "discreet" shot to post!!
June 20th, 2011
Talking about discreet shots .... the Seattle Flickrites group was there and got some great shots. The flickr site blocked a couple of them because of my settings. Hahahaha!!!! Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing because there were plenty of shots that made the cut. ;-)
June 20th, 2011
excellent street photo, good placement of the camera to keep it pg rated
June 21st, 2011
Wonderful!!
June 21st, 2011
How do they get away with it? I guess the police turn a blind eye, haha. I was going to ask if there was more than one in the last photo. Just answered my question! I totally love it.
June 21st, 2011
@clarissajohal It is a sanctioned nude activity. This police help with the parade traffic. Around 200 people participated. Quite unique!
June 21st, 2011
@seattle and one of the many reasons why I need to move to Seattle, lol. If they even tried to do that in NC, the church people would all come out and beat them with their bibles.
June 21st, 2011
@clarissajohal Now that is an image I would have to photograph...
June 21st, 2011
Missed it this year as I was out of town. Some coworkers and I were wondering Monday how the body paint held up in the rain. Seems to have done okay. Truely, I just can't imagine participating for soooo many reasons.
June 21st, 2011
haha great stuff. Someone posted one from a similar naked ride through london.
June 22nd, 2011
You have such an exciting collection of street shots. I've been so entertained looking thru your project.
