A few days ago while walking around Lincoln Park, I and several others spotted these eagles perched on a tree top high above the beach area where we stood. It's always a thrill to take a photo of an eagle(s). Thanks for stopping by.
Amazing! And in another part of Seattle yesterday (Discovery Park) I saw and posted a photo of TWO woodpeckers! We should have gone walking together yesterday, too! I'd love to see one eagle -- and two!
@congaree John...Yes they are bald eagles. FYI: "Not only is the Bald Eagle a prominent symbol of the United States, it is also the national bird. You may be wondering why they're called "bald" when they obviously have white feathers on their heads. The name actually comes from an old English word — piebald — which meant “white-headed" rather than hairless."
I'm sure finding eagles to shoot must be a special thrill. But to find two of them sitting next to each other posing for the same shot. How wonderful. I have never seen any myself. But next time I get up to Seattle, I shall have to try to remember to check out Lincoln Park. Fav.
Always great seeing eagles. I always look forward to my next spotting. Alaska is always great for that. Did you see the picture kicking around of the "Alaska Christmas Tree"?
