Maida Vale tube station - which is actually amazing, but I was with someone who would not have appreciated me spending ages in the ticket hall playing composition and photography - he'd taken my spare ticket to a Ravel piano concert at the BBC Maida Vale studios - the ones from where a lot of the very early music was recorded and broadcast, and I should have told him he'd had the ticket now let me play - next time
I can see you were rushed but the B&W brings it round. Nice shot. These older stations have a certain something about them - I like Canary Wharf for the opposite reason.
Your composition is excellent here and I'm impressed with the sharpness at 0.4 sec exposure. Interesting decision given that the ISO was down at 100...
@vignouse it's a habit keeping the ISO down - previous camera was horribly grainy at anything other than low ISO - and also there were people on the escalator and I wanted to blur them
Great symmetry. I tried to take a shot similar to this last week and was accosted by tube attendants and told I wasn't allowed to take pictures on the underground without permission!
@lisatargowska it's not actually true - but you can't take photographs using flash or a tripod or getting into people's way, or for commercial purposes, or .... so everything is handheld and quick.
