Great calender shot Shanne! I tried to make one too but it didn’t work. I made a screenprint and pasted it in Gimp. But I didn’t get all the photo’s, but did get the info lines on the top and bottom of the screen. Any idea what I did wrong?
@jacqbb I had to make the screen small enough to see the whole month (Ctrl -) then used PrntScrn to take the screen shot. That I pasted into GIMP (Edit - Paste) and cropped it 4 x 3. As I ended up with bits of number and the heading I lost them this way:
1. copy layer - color -> colorise bottom layer white
2. on the top layer check it has an alpha layer (from the layer drop down menu),
3. select the rectangle (tool with rectangle) on the tool bar, outline over the bit you want) without the heading and outer mess, Ctrl I to invert and delete the bit you don't want using the delete button
4. Ctrl A to select all, merge the two layers - that gave me the white border.
5. use the same rectangle select tool to make a rectangle that will cover the numbers in the top left, colour fill (paint pot icon on the tool bar) with white
6. repeat for the bottom right - I merged those boxes down by merging all visible layers (Layer menu)
7. Use the text tool (capital A) to create a box with the words top left - I changed to Tempus font and black colour. I find those boxes a nightmare to go back and move, so make sure I start with them in the right place
7. Same for bottom right
8. Merge those layer and export as .jpg and/or .png
