Not a total fail, hence it's here, because the bubbles worked - using cooking oil in water on an orange background from my tablet. The problem is the container I used, a plastic single use carton from my recycling - and it has a fine texture that the bubbles have magnified (and some text). It also works for my Get Pushed challenge this week where @salza has challenged me to focus on pattern and textures. Orange for Tuesday as part of Rainbow Challenge.
Three good things:
1. Hooded sweatshirt is mostly made, it needs the ribbing adding and neatening. It is very effective and attractive (she's really not well today, on pain meds and extra anti-histamine to be doing anything, so I didn't get out for a walk)
2. Today's new skill was for me to learn how to insert eyelets into the hood for the tape;
3. Finding out some new skills on GIMP for a discussion on creating frames
Thank you for looking and your wonderful comments and faves. You're all superstars. I prefer to thank you by looking at your pictures rather than thanking you below.
@gardencat there have been a lot of these about this month, and some 365ers have produced beautiful examples. This one is produced by floating oil, ordinary cooking oil, on water. To achieve the colour the easiest way is to set up a tablet with the screen full of the colour you want and use it to backlight the oil and water. I guess most people are using clear glass, but I didn't want to scratch my tablet, so used a plastic container from my recycling bag. What I couldn't see with the naked eye, but which has been picked up by the macro and magnified by the oil droplets, is the fine crisscross texture. But I'm trying to be inspired by other people and create my own takes on images, so am not too bothered that this is different.
Thank you for the compliment on my Macro March project; appreciate your interest in it throughout the month.
Great response to the challenge!
Well done!
