Water Harbor

Lake Union, Seattle
year 2, day 172

A rather uninspired shot for the day, but a gray day makes shooting difficult sometimes. In my continuing effort to get in shape for the 1/2 marathon walk that I am doing in May I decided to walk home from work today. I could have picked a better day as I spent the entire 2 1/2 hour walk in drizzle, most of it under an umbrella. The walk itself was aproximatly 8.2 miles, most of it uphill. When I bike into work it's about 10.5 miles; it's much easier to pick the direct path on foot vs. bike, but you still have to deal with all the traffic lights.

This is the shores of Lake Union, Queen Anne Hill in the backgrond, a float plane off to the right. There are daily take offs and landings of float planes from this lake with a thriving commuter business to the San Juan Islands and Vancouver and Victoria B.C. This is a very busy lake with charter boats, houseboats, marinas and a wide variety of other things going on daily here.

edit: crop, conversion to B&W and then cross process
nice composition
