Hit the Brakes

Greenlake Park, Seattle
year 2, day 196

My first bikeride into work of the season. I left early thinking it might take me forever to get in considering how out of shape I am. A gorgeous morning for a ride with blue skies and shining sun and reasonable temperatures, at least reasonable for 6:40 in the morning in May. My time into work wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be and I even made it home again without stopping either. All and all not bad for the first day out.

This heron (which is definately my bird lately, I keep running into them all over town) appeared at the side of the lake as I was riding by just as I was trying to decide if I should stop for a photo or not. Grabbed the brakes and leaned my bike against the tree and walked over to take a few shots. Then let the other photographer who was also by the lake know where it was and headed off to work agian.

edit: crop, some exposure, a little boost and a little tint
Beautiful shot, beautiful scene. Love the reflections.
