Our pastor spoke yesterday morning about remembering people. He talked about how we all want our loved ones to remember us when we are gone and when we are alive too. He spoke of remembering the sacrifices of our soldiers and the price of our freedom.
For today's photo, I chose a flower that my son Matthew gave me 2-3 years ago for Mother's day. He remembered me, even though he didn't have a job yet he saved and got me this flower. For a few dollars, every year I am reminded that he remembered me. He probably doesn't even remember that he bought me this flower, but it means the world to me.
I am committing myself to remebering others more. More phone calls, cards and little things. I think I can do that. I guess I can call this my Memorial day resolution.
I like your shot and your comments. I have committed myself to keeping in touch more intentionally with my sisters now that Dad is with the Lord. It becomes so easy to forget when life gets busy. Your comment adds weight to my desire to stay in touch.
What a gorgeous flower and photo of it. It sure does mean a lot to have someone think of us, especially our children. Just to know that at that moment in time you were thought of means so much. You sure do have a wonderful pastor who gave a wonderful talk.
