The long fur on our German Shepherd Lesia makes her look like a big friendly teddy bear, not so intimidating to people who are not sure about big dogs. Children love to come and say hello to her – we made sure that we had regular visits by friends’ young offspring when she was puppy, and consequently she is very comfortable with children around her. The teddy bear look is not so good in this hot weather though, and a favourite spot is on the cool patio slabs beneath the arching bamboo fronds. Today has been cooler, and Lesia is much more lively, playing with our other dog, Tia, and running along scent trails on our walks.
Now that's a very relaxed dog looking so gentle that even I might not be afraid of it . . . and I am very afraid of German Shepherds! Sweetly captured.
such a beautiful shot. really love big dogs and used to have a shepherd/husky/wolf mix named tucker who passed two years ago. he used to be able to tell me when i was going to have a seizure and so i really miss him very much but he had seizures, too, and they did him in but he had a very long and happy life. fav.
