I pondered posting another industrial shot of the boat lift, but with autumn imminent I decided to make the most of the countryside before winter gloom arrives. Then I realised that we are still surrounded by stubble, although the straw bales have gone, and I’ve posted lots of golden-stubble-in-the-sunshine images, and so I found another shot taken in Derbyshire. @shepherdmans wife and I swapped roles here –usually she is the one on her knees taking the close-ups, while I peruse the far horizons, but while I took this shot of a bilberry plant nestled in the millstone grit rocks, @shepherdmans wife was photographing the purple heather landscape. I don’t know why I tend to look upward and outwards, while @shepherdmanswife looks down and close-up – its more than just a lens thing. I recall that when we were house hunting before buying this place, she was looking at the room details, while I was drawn to the outlook from the windows. It was better that way. @shepherdmanswife has the innate ability to see a room as it will be, not as it is. I can’t do that.
@overalvandaan Ah! Hadn't tho0ught of that! That explains why the dogs and me go for a walk and returnn with wood for the log burner, while @shepherdmanswife prepairs dinner. Not very gender-correct in this modern world, but it works for us!
Interesting reading about your different styles. You really nailed this one with the nature among the rocks sort of theme. I think there actually is a theme like this going on...I saw a few other's posting.
It's quite determined this shrubbery, isn't it? The colors it presents tell a doomed tale - at least for the winter, maybe it will find a way to survive
