There was a cold wind on the top of Whistler Mountain, and we were all ready to descend on the chair lift. As we travelled down we passed mountain bikers travelling in the opposite direction, high above the rocky slopes, but too cool to use the pull-down safety bar on the chair lift. Their Mum’s would have a fit if they knew. Their bikes travelled separately on another chair lift. Our downward trip was against the cold wind, and we were glad to reach the bottom, warming up as we climbed the steep track to the gondola station, where we caught another gondola for the 3 mile trip across to the neighbouring peak of Blackcombe Mountain.
