Lake Maligne by shepherdman

Lake Maligne

I spend quite a lot of time waiting while @shepherdmanswife performs her magic with her camera, but the partner of this lady had to be even more patient – she was sketching the mountain backdrop of Lake Maligne.
After the excitement of seeing black bears, we saw no further wildlife before we got to Lake Maligne, other than crickets that continuously clicked as they flew, and we had lunch in the warm sunshine overlooking the Lake before following a lakeside trail in the vain hope that we would see elk or moose. The staff in the restaurant told us that a moose had been swimming in the Lake the previous day, but we saw nothing but canoeists. It had become quite hot and so we found a quiet spot and went for a paddle to cool off, but not a single moose was tempted out of the woods to join us.
Wonderful scenery!
