On the day that we were leaving the Rockies to head back to Vancouver, before first light we drove down to Lake Louise to see the sunrise, as occasional rain spattered the windscreen under a dark sky – not exactly an indication of a spectacular sunrise. We expected to be alone at that hour, but followed two other cars down the road, and when we got there half a dozen photographers already had their tripods set up at the top of the Lake, and others followed. We spent an hour there, Chantal busy behind her camera, and me alternating between photography and strolling around the lakeside. At 8am some sort of guided tour gathered, from whom I learned that Lake Louise, at 1600m, is the highest town in Canada, and ten minutes later the first coach load of tourists arrived, and so it was time to return to the hotel for breakfast.
Great capture! This made me laugh as I was on a coach tour with Titan and our aim every morning was to beat the Japanese coaches! Not always successful and many a beautiful view was spoilt by so many people.
Like this - can always spot a good photo op by the number of cameras set up on tripods. It is a spectacular spot and the color of that water is wonderful. Nice composition with the people.
