The view from my office window at 1.30am this morning. The “timber framed” building is a night club, opening at 10pm, beginning to get busy by midnight, and with a queue by 2am, The bass beat from the dance floors spread over six storeys makes the windows of the club rattle, despite robust sound insulation fitted inside each window frame. I know that the insulation is robust – myself and a colleague made then install it a few years ago, in the interests of people living in apartments a short distance from the club. So now you’ve had a glimpse of my work life – sorting out noisy clubs, pubs factories and neighbours. Last night’s duty included two late night parties (I can be a real party pooper….), a young lady sharing her music with her neighbour at 1.00am, and an intriguing loud intermittent hum from an unknown source affecting a flat throughout the night. That last job will need further investigation on Monday - I enjoy those investigations that are not straightforward!
I really like this image, the buildings look rather splendid, shame that they are used to house a night club! I'm intrigued by your job - are you a council noise abatement officer?
So you are busy at 1:30 in the morning shutting down parties. Well, you're no fun.
It's a great night shot though - like the light facades on the buildings.
Lovely scene. I am often accused by my children of being the "pooper of parties" or even a "fun sucker!" Everything seems so much louder when you are trying to sleep, I am sure many people appreciate your service.
I love the angles here. 1:30 a.m. is that time I wake up and look miserably at the clock hoping I will fall back to sleep. If I manage to stay awake until 10:00 pm I think it amazing. I am an early riser (4am most mornings). I have had neighbors that I would have like to call the noise police on. So let me thank you for your efforts even if not for me.
What a beautifully lit shot, looks fab. As for your role, you must be an absolute hero to the people you have saved from unwanted noise, it is so life destroying.
It's a great night shot though - like the light facades on the buildings.
