I’m not sure what this creeping plant is, sending its spiny tendrils across the path. It may be a young wild blackberry shoot, but I’ve never seen leaves this red, even in autumn. It was growing alongside a somewhat muddy woodland path leading up towards the hill close to home, just before a steep and slippery slope, which even my walking boots had difficulty gripping. I just had Tia with me. She merely engaged 4-paw drive, trotting up the incline without changing pace, and then sitting at the top to look down at her nose at me. She sometimes has to be very patient with this fallible human who has to be taken out twice a day.
Love the colour and interesting that the stem is the same colour as the leaves. My dogs are unimpressed with my attempts at climbing up and down slippery slopes. They are very patient with me though.
