Three days of dreary dampness, misty and moist, and, worst of all, muddy. I know that many of you will have no problem finding inspiration in such grey autumnal weather, but as I’ve trudged through the soggy countryside watching the dogs gallop through the mire, which means a hose-down after every walk, nothing particularly photogenic has emerged from the gloom. I treat bright and sunny days as a savings account, making deposits into a folder marked “365 potential” on my PC (no tablet for me…at least not yet), and then drawing on the account when other funds are low. And so here is a deposit made a few days ago. I occasionally grumble about these pylons, which get in the way of many views around here, and occasionally sneak un-noticed into an image until I view on my large monitor, but occasionally they can add a bit of extra interest to my shots.
I like the comparison you made. Great colours and processing. We've also got pilons in our 'backyard' and I have the same feeling about them as you describe. Dirty dogs a photo subject?!
I love the subtle sky and cloud colours. The silhouettes are wonderful - pylons sometimes have a kind of beauty of their own and this is one of those times for me. Fav!
I call mine the treasure chest. What is good is they are processed and ready to use. When shooting in the snow the wires covered in snow can add interest but are mostly annoying. This is worthy of a treasure chest.
I agree that they add interest in this shot - especially the industrial lines juxtaposed with the natural lines of the tree on the right. Beautifully composed. FAV
