This was taken a couple of weeks ago during our morning walk. Nowadays I have to choose between coinciding our walk to catch the sun rise, or arriving at work on time. Now then, remind me, which of these activities pays the bills? Technically, with flexitime, I could do both, but then I might be late home.
Yesterday morning the sky was clear steely blue, still dotted with stars as we left home, with just enough light to see across the fields, and so the dogs wore precautionary collar lights in case they decided to follow a scent across the stubble. The sun was still below the horizon when we got home. For me the short days are probably the worst part of the winter season, with morning walks in gloom and evening walks in complete darkness. @shepherdmanswife is usually home sufficiently early for a short dusky walk, leaving just younger Tia needing a longer night walk, with just her flashing collar light visible as she investigates the nocturnal scents in hedgerows and stubble.
Incidentally, for “local” (in the international sense) dog walkers, I heartily recommend Aldi flashing lights for cyclists and children, attached to the collar (of your dog, not your child) with a clip from your local hardware store. I’m not on commission.
An amazing sunrise - good start to the shorter days - ours are getting longer but the windy weather is not cooperating here either. Not summery at all yet really.
