St Michael and All Angels Parish Church, Croft – quite an impressive title for quite a small church. It is the first building that we pass on the footpath leading from our home, past Croft Hill, into the village. We pass the church on many dog walks in that direction, as well as on our Tuesday night dog walk to the pub – Tuesday night is the bells are ringing practice, and if the bells have started ringing as we pass, then we know that we are a little later than usual. Incidentally the bell ringers used to be regulars at the pub after Tuesday night campanology practice, but since January 1st 2103, when they arrived at the pub earlier than expected after a New Year’s Day ramble and Andy the landlord refused to let them in before opening time, they have boycotted the establishment. We had a new landlord last month. I wonder if the bell ringers will return?
