A fill in from our trip to Yorkshire last month, returning from an evening dog walk as the sun set. We climbed up the steep slope of the grazing land to the track that back to my @Ros ‘s home, and as we approached the field gate bats circled overhead, the first that any of us had seen this season. With our expert knowledge of the species, we could identify two distinct specific varieties and could confidently name them. Big ones and little ones. And that was as confident as we got.
