We have two hills just minutes from our home – Croft Hill, a natural granite outcrop which rises above the surrounding countryside, with views in every direction, and the so called “New Hill”, an artificial hill, effectively a naturalised spoil heap that runs along one side of quarry, not as high as the original hill but still high above the surrounding landscape, a ridge of grass and trees with a footpath along the top. This stile links the two hills.
