When we visited the “curry-café-in-the-Welsh-hills”, we noticed the view from the gate at the entrance, across Lake Bala far below us. @shepherdmanswife decided that this was a perfect vantage point for landscape images before and after sunset, and so I refrained from early evening wine or beer and we drove back up the winding road into the hills. I know, I could have enjoyed a convivial glass of wine with dinner and let @shepherdmanswife drive, but the roads are narrow and twisting, with stone walls on either side, and we are using my car…. We spent a contented hour or so at this deserted spot, watching the sky turn from vibrant blue through fluorescent pink to dusky grey, as the distant hills morphed from three dimensional green to one dimensional misty layers, like cardboard shapes placed across the horizon.
