Yesterday evening’s light was gorgeous, and we headed up to Bradgate Park, 20 minutes from home. Within minutes we were distracted by a herd of red deer on the far side of the river, and joined another photographer, boasting a lens twice as long as @shepherdmanswife ‘s and mine combined, to capture the stag. I had Tia on a lead, and kept my distance. Moving on, we found a swan preening in a pool of reflected golden light, and @shepherdmanswife, with her enthusiasm for low light photography, was soon engrossed in her art, and so Tia and I decided to explore the paths and tracks leading away from the river, telling @shepherdmanswife to phone me as soon as she was ready to go home. All I can say is that I can’t be blamed for the poor phone signal in the park. It was almost dark with a distinct chill in the air when a disgruntled voicemail finally made it to my phone, and, since I had the car keys, I found a slightly grumpy wife waiting by the car park. There were mutterings about me not being allowed to join her photo expeditions again….
What a wonderful shot of this amazing animal. Great light and focus.
And by the way, that's why we use radio's and no mobiles. On remote places we always had signal problems,... no more mutterings since then.
