We visited a loch-side Scottish National Trust garden, as much a nature reserve as a garden. While sheltering in a timber cabin from yet another heavy shower, a red squirrel scurried across the ground in front of us. We found some squirrel feeders and it wasn’t long before a squirrel appeared, followed by a second on another feeder. After they retired to the safety of the tree canopy, we moved a bit closer, adjusted our camera for improved shots, and hid in the shrubs. @shepherdmanswife would have waited hours for the perfect shot. I’d had enough after 10 minutes. I will never be a wildlife photographer.
Lovely to know these beautiful animals are thriving in other parts of the country. Great shot of the little cutie.
I have not seen the one that visits the garden for a while because there is plenty for them to eat in the wild this time of year.
