Two bullocks square up to each other during showdown on Croft Hill. I don't know why they bothered - there were no cows to compete for, and in any case, being bullocks, had there been a cow, neither would have known what to do with it. A small herd of bullocks is kept on the Hill for much of the year to control thistles, nettles, brambles and various shrubs, ecouraging wildflowers to flourish.
or eye to eye....I can remember calves doing a lot of head banging in my childhood...dont see many now. nice shot...the whites of their eyes show they mean business I guess
