It is looking distinctly autumnal in places, the summer drought having turned many leaves brown, the dry foliage dropping to the floor with the slightest breeze. But the colours are not yet the golds and reds of true autumn, and the more resilient trees and shrubs are still green. When the sun shines, as it did during this afternoon's walk, it is still very warm, with no sign of a chill in the air, at least not yet.
