This evening Tia and I walked along the higher path around the quarry, with Croft Hill on the far side . As soon as we were out of the shelter of the Hill, there was a bitter wind, despite bright sunshine, and so we descended the steps to the sheltered path around the wildlfe ponds, We were rewarded by contrasting light, the sun shining over the quarry edge to illuminate the tree tops, while the lower vegetation was already in evening shadow.
