Tourist information about the village of Snowshill in the Coltwolds talk about the hilltop location of the village, and thw views of the surrounding coountryside. From our walk it was more a case of seeing the village along the whole route, as we descended the valley from Snowshill Manor. @shepherdmanswife kept remarking that what goes down must go up, and sure enough our final leg was up a steep country lane back into the village. @shepherdmanswife pland a return trip later in the year, to the nearby Snowshill Lavender Fields.
Ah, that golden stone is even more golden in the sunshine. The lavender fields are worth a visit for the scent alone. There'll be lots of people around!
