A railway viaiduct crosses the valley and golf course close to my sister's West Yorkshire home. She was fed up when, many years ago, a large hotel converted valley-side countryside into a neat and tidy golf course. Dog walkers were instructed to keep to the path. Recently golfers have been scarce, and walkers have roamed more freely. Maybe one day the land will revert to open country again.
