Stubble by shepherdman

Stubble

Lots of unploughed stubble left in the fields around us. Hopefully it will still be unploughed over winter - better for wildlife. As always the stubble fields have been lighty turned over around the edges, with a few similar strips across the field. I keep forgetting to ask a farming friend of mine why this is. It may be breaking up the compacted "tramlines" where tractor wheels travelled when spraying etc.

Good for the insects I believe. Good shot.

Stubble is such a funny word but it definitely means this!

The tree seems to have the golden color of the stubble up top, as if it's reflecting the color.

Interesting having the stubble so soft. I bet they aren’t if you walk on them barefoot. Nice leading lines
