Evening sunshine contributed to the sepia effect of this photo, but the grass is naturally sepia, with few green shoots after weeks of dry weather. We miss our circuit of this field, not an option with the dogs while sheep are in residence, but at least when the sheep leave at the end of the season the meadow will be neatly cropped and free of thistles
