This morning looked full of promise, the sun was trying to break through and the mist was hanging in the fields at the back of the house. I rushed down the garden, camera in hand, to take a fantastic sunrise through layers of mist. I waited and waited and the mist got thicker and the sun was struggling, so I gave up and made my way back up the garden, disappointed at the time wasted, and yet once again, I would be later for work than I'd like to be!
Then, I took a second glance at the small white butterfly that I had seen on my way down the garden, but dismissed in favour of misty fields etc. He was still sitting on the gate. Both the butterfly and the gate were covered in water droplets, waiting to warm up and dry out.
Look at this in large view and you can see the tiny droplets along his wings, on his legs, antennae and eyes! Amazing! I just love macro shots that help you see what your eyes can't so easily spot.
@salza Wow, thank you. Seems like i'm not the only one to love this photo and to think I walked past the little butterfly and only stopped to get this because there was nothing else to take!
